The area behind the dorms looked like a trashnado (that’d be a tornado made of trash) had swept through it: items ranging in size from beads to pencils to furniture and even a few fallen logs were strewn all over the place. It really will grow bigger as it accumulates (moddable) debris and items. Deity of your choice help you if you try to play katamari chicken with each other, though.

Rolling the ball became a lot more interesting once it'd gotten stuff on it, yes.

Kurt managed the Katamari just fine at first, but then it got bigger and heavier and was hard to push. Then he rolled over some long logs that stuck at weird angles so that the ball didn't roll very well, and that just caused all sorts of problems.

Kennedy was not contemplating one of the goofy hats, nor was she having any Skittles. A cautiously nibbled cookie while looking out for runaway katamaris though...

It was a totally weird exercise, but she secretly thought it looked like a lot of fun. She... might have to take a crack at it later. 'cause really.
