Hayley had been bored. So incredibly bored. While she was a little worried about not having a job or a class to TA, she wasn't concentrating on that right now.

Right now she was laying on a common room couch, watching a movie that was utterly horrifying her.

Didi padded in, already in jammies and slippers. It was hot; she'd needed a shower after visiting Jono at the library, and real clothes had seemed like effort.

"Hayley," she said with pleasure. It had been a while. "Hi! What are you watching? Want company?"

"Yes, please," Hayley said, sitting up a bit so she wasn't taking the whole couch. "It's some movie where Elvis is an old guy and I'm scared because Elvis isn't supposed to be an old guy."

"I saw him live," Hayley said. "Back in his prime. Which I guess is when I come from. It still weirds me out to think that he's not always... like he was."

The last time Karla had been in this common room, pizzas had appeared as if by magic. Where magic could be defined as 'Warren and Bobby,' but still, she couldn't be blamed for stopping by every so often to check this were a regular thing. Seeing Hayley, however, made up for the lack of pizzas.

"Kiss kiss," she said, heading inside. And then stopped to look at the teevee. "I know that male!" she said, pointing to the screen. "That's King Bubba! I met him at Sookie's house last week!"

Hayley just sort of stared for a second at Karla. "You mean... you met Elvis last week?"

She was dumbstruck. And jealous. And all sorts of things that all ran through her head leaving her almost dizzy.

Karla nodded as if that were the most normal thing in the world. "Yes. Though he liked being called Bubba better." She made a face. "He was...kind of weird."

Like eating cats weird.

Hayley shook her head, better able to believe that it was just someone else that looked like Elvis.

"No way it was the same guy," Hayley said. "He's definitely not weird. And definitely not wanting to go by Bubba."
