It was the first meeting of the frat for the new semester! Hannibal, as you might have expected, was pretty excited about this. Arthur, less so, but that was Arthur for you. Hannibal would pay cash money to anyone who got pictorial evidence of Arthur in glee mode. CASH MONEY ( Read more... )

Step right up and introduce yourself! Name, age, year and the most macho thing you've ever done!

Hannibal blew Mat a kiss and grinned.

After Warren's fashion class with the freaking swimsuits yesterday, he'd pretty much all but given up on hiding what he was. His wings were in full view, today. If 'full view' meant that they were folded so tightly against his back that they were probably cramping up a little.

"I'm Warren," he said, standing to introduce himself. He didn't look too macho at the moment, considering all of the fidgeting he was doing. "A sophomore, and seventeen years old. And... I guess the most macho thing I've ever done would be throwing myself out a window."

Running away from his dad. And it really didn't count as macho if he had wings, did it?

"Threw yourself out a window?" Hannibal asked, sounding impressed. "What'd you do that for?"

"It's a bit of a long story," Warren replied, lifting a hand and rubbing at the back of his neck awkwardly. "The stairs probably wouldn't have worked too well at the time, and I needed to get out of there, and quick."

A beat.

"It made sense at the time."

The fact that the window hadn't been open at the time might have made it slightly more macho, perhaps.

"That's pretty badass," Hannibal complimented. "How high up were you?"

"Uh..." Warren looked up toward the ceiling, trying to remember for the life of him which floor it had been on. And then he shrugged his shoulders, smiling a bit, like maybe he suddenly did feel pretty badass for doing it. "At least twenty floors up, I think. I stayed in free-fall for at least a good fifteen of those before catching myself."

And it had been exhilarating and awesome, and if he was fidgeting now, it was because he was realizing how badly he wanted to get outside and do it again.

"Awesome," Hannibal said, still sounding impressed. "I dunno if we'll be able to fly like that but now I kinda wanna take the frat hang gliding. Wouldn't be as good but close."

"I'll try not to fly too many circles around the rest of you guys," Warren replied, and now he was grinning. "If you need any help organizing something like that, let me know. On my list of less-macho talents is a half-decent ability to balance books and keep business matters more or less in order."

He was being modest, now. Daddy was a millionaire, and Warren had learned all he needed to know about building and owning a Fortune 500 company from him. Organizing a hang gliding expedition would be a five-minute ordeal, the expenses of which could possibly even come out of his daily lunch money.

"Might take you up on that," Hannibal said, perking up even further. He sucked at math and sucked at business even further. He grinned at Warren. "I can make calls but that's about the extent of my abilities with networking. So, might knight you the Official Frat Bookkeeper. Or something."

"I'll even bring my own ledger," Warren laughed. "You pick a date for an outing like that, and I'll even arrange for fundraising, transportation, glider rental, and lessons."

Which was totally not Warren going overboard and showing off in the least, honest.

"I think you're gonna be a handy guy to have around," Hannibal said, nodding. "And if we get bored, we can try and bribe you to jump out windows."

Kidding, he was kidding!

"For ten dollars a jump, I'll even carry people out the windows with me," Warren grinned.

Now there would be one hell of a fundraiser, right there.

"We might have to do that," Hannibal said, half serious. He was sure people would love to fly and they could make some serious money that way. "And I can't see it being too bad a benefit for you especially if the girls are hot."

"There's less of a chance I'll drop them, that way," Warren laughed.

He was joking. He was so joking.

"I'll remember to practice how to fall if you ever end up carrying me," he joked, shaking his head.
