Raven had been trying to make more of an effort to listen to the radio, so after hearing on Wednesday night that Anakin had talked to Max and then on Thursday that Max had been in a fight, she had confused mixed emotions. She was hesitant to jump to conclusions, but if what she suspected was correct, then she was dismayed that violence and injury

Mat was finished with his classes and was in search of someone to entertain him.

"Hello," he said with a smile, flopping onto a sofa. "The tiny wet people are bloody strange."

"Does it really matter?" Mat replied with a smile. "We have lots of time to figure it out."

So...yes.

Raven smiled. "And you do not mind spending all that time teaching me?"

"Not at all," Mat said, winking. "Why, would you prefer better company?"

"Not at all," Raven said. "I think you would very easily chase the boredom away."

"I do have that reputation," he laughed. "When I was younger, I once dredged a dog in flour to make it look like a ghost."

"As a prank?" Raven asked. She still wasn't very clear on what pranks were supposed to be for even though she'd participated in one at camp.

Mat nodded. "Unluckily for me, the dog ran straight home and through the just washed kitchen of the blacksmith's wife. I had to hide in the barn."

Raven could not help but laugh. "Were you ever discovered?" she asked.

"It was a very small town and I had a reputation," Mat said. "It got to be that a goodwife's laundry couldn't fall down without me getting blamed for it."

"And most of the time you were entirely innocent, were you not?" Raven teased.

[bloody_luck]

Not at all.

"Oh, of course," Mat said, all elaborate innocence.

[trigons_child]

"I am an empath," Raven reminded him, still laughing. "I would be able to tell if you were innocent or not." Well, only if he felt guilty about his actions, which she doubted, but that was beside the point, really.

"Oh, I'm pure as snow," Mat lied. Badly.

"Your kisses," Raven pointed out, "contradict that."

Mat winked again. "Do they?"
