Arthur was generally not one to be around the common room when the television was on, but he had smelled food. So far, no one had poisoned him with common room food yet, and with any luck, that streak would keep up.

"Morning. What's that you're eating?"

He wasn't going to pass comment on the colouring.

He nodded, thoughtfully. "Lord Leto's informed you well?" he checked.

Sometimes, he still feinted to 'too formal for his own good', but at least he meant it.

"Yep, he's been a good big," Claire said. "And I got lucky with having a roommate who wasn't totally new. Dinah's been a big help with getting adjusted to life in Fandom."

"She's well-acquainted with most of what goes on," he said. That... better not make its way back to Dinah, mind. "But she's very... excitable."

"She's... enthusiastic," she said. That was a nice way to describe Dinah's hyperactivity.

It was very diplomatic of her. "That's a good way of putting it," he replied. "I trust you're dealing with the enthusiasm well."

"Morning," Arthur replied, lifting an eyebrow back at him, "'Dude.'"

"I'm Hurley," he introduced. "I don't think we've met and stuff."

"I'm Arthur Pendragon," he said, having settled on that variation of his name-and-title for the day. "'And stuff'. Aren't you the one who keeps walking in on my manservant?"

See, Hurley? You had a legacy.

"Walking in?" Hurley said. "...I don't think I've ever walked in on anyone, dude."

"Bothering him, whatever it is," Arthur said, sounding like he didn't particularly care. "You're here for the pancakes?"

"...dude, he says I bother him?" Hurley said. That was... disheartening.

"According to the squirrel notes, you keep wandering in at the wrong time," he said, dryly. "I'm sure it's nothing."

Merlin had this habit of hugging trees on occasion. And other things. Beyond people who were actually dicks (being, for example, Leto Atreides the Second), Arthur had a hard time picturing him actually hating anyone.

"Oh," Hurley said. "Yeah. You had me worried for a second, dude. "
