"My nose does not deceive me," Valentine noted as she came into the common room, laptop as ever tucked under her arm. "Someone is cooking something, and it's not even burning."

"Someone actually knows what he's doing in here," he said with a faint smile at the girl he hadn't met quite yet before peering at the plates. The one on the left should be just right: still a little warm, but imminently edible.

"You're welcome to some of the cookies, and the soup as soon as it's done."

Yes, food came before introductions.

"Thanks," Valentine said, looking over the cookies a little before picking one up. She sniffed at it a little, not so much out of suspicion (if it was, she couldn't help herself) as just curiosity as to what to expect before taking a bite.

"What kind of soup?"

"It's chicken, noodle, vegetable, and some apple sausage," he told her as he started clearing the baking supplies away.

"I make a lot more than I eat, so I usually leave the tureen for anyone else to take from."

"Hello, Liir," Penelope said politely. She came in to get herself a glass of milk.

He turned to look at her over his shoulder.

"Penelope, hello. How've you been? Seems like ages, really."

"Fine, thank you."

She reached in the cabinet for a glass.

"Have you been well?"

"Well enough," he admitted as he started cleaning.

"I've been home, after all."

"Oh, Lord, cookies," Claudia said ecstatically.

Today, in honor of her arts class earlier, she was dressed in a purple beret, plaid overalls in green and lavender, and a lime green tank top.

...Liir, if he was the type to say something about what people were wearing (which he wasn't) would more than likely comment that she looked fit for the Emerald City. No, really.

"You're welcome to some," he said without turning back around. The last batch was cooling, but the first batch had already been iced and set out. Now for the soup.

"Good," she chirped as she snatched a cookie off the plate. "It'd be mean to make cookies and then not share them. Thank you!"

"I usually make them to share them. I don't eat much. You're welcome to as many as you like."

He'd already set aside a small box for Elspeth.
