The Roof - Friday Evening

Mar 27, 2009 15:15

Chuck's little, ah, problem had cleared up yesterday but he didn't let himself out of his self-imposed imprisonment until Friday afternoon. He wouldn't put it past Peter to lull him into a false sense of security and then make it all come back while he was in public or something. He went to the roof after the cheerleading auction with a couple ( Read more... )

Jess didn't come up to the roof to smoke often, but it was the weekend, the auction had been entertaining, and one cigarette while the weather was decent wasn't going to kill him. He noticed that he wasn't alone when he went to the ledge, but he was more concerned with patting down his pockets at the moment. He was going to kick his own ass if he'd come all the way up here without anything to smoke.

Chuck could honestly not believe his eyes when he saw who else was on the roof. Fucking figured. The roof was his spot, dammit, it should be jackass free.

Well. Jackass free save for him, naturally.

"Are you stalking me or something?"

Jess looked around, expecting to see that he'd been followed, and realized that he was the one being addressed. "Stalking's not really my thing," he said, before adding, "This is a public space. I have the same right to be here as you do."

"Right, right. You're totally up here by coincidence and not to annoy the fuck out of me," Chuck said with a roll of his eyes. "After the last couple of days nobody is going to believe that."

Priestly was still boggling a little over the whole cheerleading auction thing as he made his way up to the roof.

He nodded to Chuck. "Hey, man."

"Well if it isn't the most expensive cheerleader in the school," Chuck said, smirking.

Priestly bit back a groan. "Dude, I have no idea. Just none. But, hey, lots of money for the school, huh?"

"Don't act so modest. I'm sure Eric thinks you're worth every dollar," Chuck said. "He's my brother, you know."

Ah, the roof. It was so versatile. If you emo, or pensive, or just wanted to enjoy the view, it was perfect. It was perfect for jamming too, which was Robin's original plan when he came up.

But when he saw more people up there, he felt uncertain. He didn't want to bother people with his practice. Not everyone appreciated banjo music afterall.

"Evening everybody."

Chuck just rolled his eyes and didn't reply to Robin. He was in no mood to deal with hippie frogs.

Robin sighed to himself but said nothing. Like it or not, sometimes people were just unfriendly. He headed to the far side of the roof and and began to play softly.
