The Deck, Saturday Evening

Feb 08, 2009 11:35

Prince Edmund of Narnia was no stranger to cold weather. When he'd betrayed his pitiful siblings to the Queen and taken his rightful place as her Prince, he sealed Narnia's fate to an endless winter. The cold made him sharper, more focused on the task at hand. Besides, he reasoned, if it was still above freezing, he had no place to complain. Not ( Read more... )

"Hi," Molly greeted Edmund with a wave as she climbed onto the deck. "Why aren't you inside where it's warm?"

Prince Edmund gave her a sharp look. "I like the cold," he replied bluntly. Did no one here know when to bow before a Prince?

"I thought you said you didn't like winter?" She asked, shoving her hands in her pockets. "With the long story and all?"

"I don't know what you're talking about. I've never told you a long story."

K-Mart had figured out pretty easily that the school had gone insane. She'd spent most of the day handwavily hiding out.

Now, though, she'd shrugged on a jacket and was heading out to the deck.

"Oh," she said when she caught sight of Edmund. "Hi. Sorry, I didn't realize anybody else was out here."

"Well I am," Prince Edmund replied sharply, broadening his shoulders as much as he could. "Who are you?"

"K-Mart," she said, unruffled by the tone in his voice. She did, however, notice the fact that he was actually kind of hot. He did the broody thing well, apparently.

There was something about dark leather and dark cloaks and significant eyebrows that made the hot, brooding thing work easier. Prince Edmund raised his chin high. "Prince Edmund of Narnia," he announced, knowing that the mere mention of his name sent fear throughout the land.

After being unable to contact the Soul Society, Hitsugaya was brooding in the way only someone who appeared to be about twelve years old could.

At least there was a place outside to go.

...even if there was an odd boy in black there. He warranted a small, wary nod.

Finally, there was someone who at least acknowledged him with respect before opening their mouth. Prince Edmund responded with a nod of his own. His scowling serious expression didn't change. "I don't recognise you," he said. Ignore the fact that he didn't recognise anyone here.

"Why would you?" Hitsugaya asked, crossing his arms over his chest and scowling right on back. "I don't recognize you either."

Prince Edmund stiffened at that, his lips forming a thin line. "You should," he replied in a way that was completely demanding and not at all sulky. "Don't you recognise the Prince of Narnia when you see him?"

Wendy made her way out to the deck, eyeing the boy there, if there was one thing she could say about this place, it was that it had a refreshing lack of facial hair.

Prince Edmund of Narnia deigned to look the newcomer up and down slowly. She didn't have the slender, bony appeal of his Queen, but the Prince was pleased by what he saw anyway. Were it not for his dark heart, he might have even shown that. "Do you see something you like?" he eventually asked, looking across at her, head tilted down.

Wendy considered him. He was attractive in a brooding, jailbait way. "What if I do?" she asked.

"Then introductions are in order," he replied with a dark expression on his face.

"...Nice view?" Calliope couldn't help asking, in passing, although part of her brain told her to just avoid the idiot standing there with the billowing black cloak. She should have known to avoid guys dressed in all black with billowing black cloaks.

"It will do." Prince Edmund had longed for a kingdom of his own, where his word would be final. "What is it you want?"

Calliope shrugged. She was bored. Pestering weird guys in cloaks against her better judgment was something to do. "If you take a picture," she offered, "it'll last longer."

Confusion flittered across his features. "My memory is fine," he protested. "I don't need a picture painted to remember landmarks. Do you always deflect direct questions from Princes when you're asked?"
