2nd floor common room - Morning

Jul 13, 2008 14:01

Ichigo wasn't much of a cook. It had always been one of his sisters who seemed to take the task upon them. He knew how to make breakfast however, enough not to burn the eggs or the bacon. The eggs were sizzling and he was going to have more than one stain on his t-shirt, but the food would be worth it. He might even be convinced to share if anyone ( Read more... )

Warren... hadn't been out much since last week when he'd come to the island. So this morning seemed as good as any to get out And attempt to...

Well. Not to socialize. Warren wasn't exactly the social sort. But to be out of his room, at least. That was something.

The coffee pot was the big draw into the second floor common room. If it wasn't for the coffee, he would have continued down the floors until he was outside and being out of his room well away from people.

"Hey," he grunted. "That coffee fair game?"

It was worth asking.

Ichigo glanced up from the stove and gave Warren a quick nod before he turned his attention back to the eggs. "Sure thing. I've got toast too if you'd like," he offered with a wave to the plate on the table. "I even managed not to burn them."

Warren considered the toast for a moment, then nodded and made his way over to the table. "I wouldn't mind even if it was burnt," he mused, taking a slice for himself. "Thanks."

He took a bite, and then made his way to the cupboards to scrounge for a mug or a plastic cup or something for the coffee. "You new here, too?"

"Yeah, I just started out this term," Ichigo turned off the stove and dumped the eggs on a plate. "I don't think I've seen you in one of my classes. I'm Ichigo."

The bad thing about your room being next to the common room was the noise and high traffic flow. If you weren't a people-person, sometimes it was overwhelming.

The best part was the smell of coffee on the weekends.

Anemone stuck her head around the door warily, her box of Sugar Bombs clutched tightly. "Hey, private party, or can anyone join in?"

"Just don't expect me to make eggs for you and it should be alright," Ichigo said with a grin from where he was sitting at the table by now. He motioned towards the pot of coffee which seemed to be the most popular around here. "Grab some if you'd like."

"Who needs eggs, when I have highly processed sugar?" she joked, coming in and making a beeline for the coffee. "I was going to make pancakes, but, well, I'm out of chocolate chips."

Okay, pancakes definitely beat his eggs. "Have you checked the cupboards? Someone seems to be filling them up." He was going to assume it wasn't another student or otherwise he'd just stolen their eggs. Not that he was too worried about that.

The smell of bacon wafting up the stairs reminded Agnes that she hadn't had much to eat yesterday. And a good thing, too. You could stand to lose a few pounds. Hushing her inner voice, she headed down to see what was going on.

"Good morning, Ichigo. That smells really good."

Oh hey, someone who knew his name. That was the witch girl from his class. Now he just had to remember her name.

"Agnes, right?" he asked. "Feel free to grab whatever you want." He hadn't paid for it after all.

"You've just made my morning," she told him, grabbing some bacon. "Do you need any help? I'm a pretty good cook."

"That's more than you can say about me. I'm just glad I didn't burn these," Ichigo replied. "Um... I'm good for now, I don't know if anyone else wants something." He wasn't exactly planning on making food for everyone.

Alice hesitated; it wasn't her common room, but the scent of freshly-made breakfast was unmistakable.

She dropped a hurried curtsy to the boy who seemed to be cooking. "Is this for anyone?" she asked. "I'm afraid I don't live on this floor."

Better to get that out of the way early.

Well initially it hadn't been, but the Anemone had started making pancakes and pancakes beat eggs and bacon (Why yes, Ichigo was assuming he could steal some of those when they were done.)

"Dig in, everyone else is," he replied. "There's coffee too."

"I don't believe I've ever had coffee," Alice mused. "Nor have I introduced myself, and if I'm imposing on your hospitality, that's the least I can do. Alice Liddell, and it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

She dropped him a curtsy at that.

Ichigo never had been curtsied and having that happen twice now was just plain weird. "You're way too polite," he decided. "I'm Ichigo Kurosaki. It's nice to meet you, Alice."
