Dawn had been moping her way around the campgrounds seriously missing Luke, but her attention was caught by the critters enacting Wild Kingdom, so she wandered over. "Hey."

Then she consciously realized to whom--what?--she was speaking, and blinked. "Er. Hi. I'm Dawn. Are you a new student?"

"I Am A New Student But I Am Not New To The Island. My Name Is Gladys."

The genet ignored Dawn completely as it rolled onto its back, kicking its hind legs to viciously disembowel the worm.

"Welcome to the island, a bit belatedly, then. What's that?" She asked, pointing at the genet, "And should it be eating that?"

"Thank You," she replied. "It Is A Genet That Will Not Leave." She paused. "I Do Not Know If It Should Be Eating It. Is Candy Bad For Animals?"
