Dean wandered out of the cabin and blinked at the beings sitting around the campfire. "Don't tell me," he said. "Someone really wanted a pony and tried a spell to get one?"

"Because my family hunts ghosts and demons and other evil things," Dean explained. "Not exactly a normal family business."

"Ghosts and demons," Temari repeated dryly. "And what do you so with them?"

[saltandammo]

"With ghosts, we salt and burn, get them to move on, lay them to rest, whatever you want to call it," Dean said. "We make it so they can't hurt anybody anymore. With demons, we send their evil asses back to hell."

"Hell?" That was an odd concept for demons. "You don't trap them?"

[saltandammo]

"Well, yeah," Dean said, "in the process of hunting them yeah. Devil's traps and all. But that's more to hold them in place while we exorcise them. A lot easier to do when you don't have to chase them down, duck them attacking and recite latin at the same time."

"How do you exorcise a demon?"

It might be useful to know if the techniques were similar.

"Generally? We've used rituals in Latin," Dean said. "Though recently I've started learning about other rituals invoking Vkandis."

"Hn." Temari pawed at the ground. "And the jinchuriki?"

"The who what now?"

[not_fangirl]

"The person with the demon in them," Temari explained, trying not to roll her eyes.

[saltandammo]

"Sometimes they don't survive, if the demon's been too rough during the possession," Dean said with a serious expression. "But we do our best to save them. It's not their fault they got bodyjacked by a demon."

Temari nodded as seriously as a small purple pony could.

"And if they're in control of the demon?"

[saltandammo]

Dean shook his head. "I've never run into that. Well, when my Dad was possessed, he got control back long enough to keep Yellow Eyes from killing me, but..."

"Might not be the same type of demons," She said vaguely. "Where can I find out more about this?"

"If that's the case," Cal muttered with an unintentional fluttering of wings, "I think whoever did it just bought him or herself a one-way ticket to a bed full of horse manure one of these days..."
