Yesterday had been a strange day for River, but better than expected. She was tired, thoughtful and couldn't sleep, so when she saw the clay person next to the fire she sat down next to her. At least there wasn't much mental noise from a golem.
"I Am A New Student. I Am Gladys. If You Are Not A Student Why Are You Still Here?" she asked. "I Have Never Danced." And she was also a bit shaky on the concept of enjoy.
Gavin didn't have a class but he hadn't really paid much attention to those in his cabin last night so he was up and outside early, just to check things.
Apparently, someone was up earlier than him.
Someone big.
Wow.
"Hey," he said cordially, coming to sit near the fire.
"Only if you want to," Gavin said, smiling a little. "Hey's just a greeting I use instead of good morning. But, good morning works too. I'm Gavin. I'm in this cabin too."
"The Fire Is Hot But It Will Not Hurt Me." She moved another log, and the fire flickered slightly higher. "It Is Important To Make The Best Fire Possible. I Am Learning How To Do That."
