4th floor common room, Sunday early evening

Jan 20, 2008 17:47

Amber was feeling restless so she put on her tap shoes and headed down the hallway to the common room, ready to make some use out of it. Seeing no one around, she put on some music and began warming up by doing a few leg and arm stretches.

After that? She started tap dancing to her hearts content, loving every single minute of it.

Link had had a wonderful day lazing around in bed after waking up with Christian. He hadn't particularly felt like getting up to do much of anything actually, until now that he decided to try and find some food.

So he came down to the common room, where he found a girl tapdancing. "Wow," he said, grinning. "You look like you could be on Corny's show!" He gave a wink.

Amber grinned wide and slowed down just enough to be able to speak without jarring her words. "Corny?"

"Corny Collins!" Link said. "Of the Corny Collins Show, in Baltimore? I'm on the Council -- we're the dancers on the show." He grinned. "Link Larkin."

"I've never heard of it," her smile was still going strong. "I'm Amber Atkins from Mount Rose, Minnesota. Just a small town with very few TV's," she added so he wouldn't take offense. Corny Collins Show? What a name.

Amber von Tussle was still not entirely clear on how she got to this tiny island. But she was rather enjoying her stay. Other than the mishap with the disgusting Irishman, things had been simply rosy.

She leaned into the common room, raising an eyebrow and watching the other girl tap for a few minutes.

"Your form gets sloppy when you switch steps," she said derisively. It didn't, but that didn't mean Amber couldn't say it, now did it?

Amber nearly tripped over her own footing when she heard that mean comment from the girl with the... beehive? "I'm not a professional," she said in the nicest tone possible.

"You don't say," Amber said, with her most plastic smile. "I would have never guessed."

Okay, Amber stopped dancing and placed her hand on her hip. "No one is askin' you to stand there and watch me dance. I'm not performin' for anyone but myself. So..." She waved her hand. "Just turn around with your fancy self and be off." Not that Amber wanted to make enemies so soon coming to Fandom, but seriously, this girl might as well be named Becky Leeman.

Still dealing with the idea that it was 2007, Frank more or less staggered into the first room he found at the dorms with people in it and threw himself into a chair, where he sat with his eyes closed.

Oh my gosh, Amber quit dancing and looked at Romeo who seemed to appear pretty down about something or awfully tired one. She approached him slowly and said almost in a whisper, "Romeo? You all right?"

"Huh?" Frank asked, opening one eye, then both. "Yeah, I'll be fine. Just gt a little confused is all. I swear I'm not crazy, but, well, what year is this?"

"Right now it's 2007 but I'm from 1999. I... I thought you knew this already?" Maybe Amber never told him what year she was from but she was pretty sure he knew what year they were currently in.

She inhaled, seeing if she could smell booze on him. Ma forgot all kinds of stuff when she'd been drinking. Which was all the time.
