Ronan had gotten bored of cooking upstairs, so when he thought he'd make some lunch for people on Saturday, he handwavily called Peter and asked him to meet him down in the second floor common room. Ronan shook his head -- but he'd been concerned about that himself when he first received it. "No, it's from one of the non-sentient trees on his planet. ... As much as any trees are non-sentient. The ones in question are more like our trees, though, not a 'dominant' life form like humans or cats. Good for helping out, but no wizards of their own."

"Aaaanyway," Ronan said, drawing out the word, even as he hefted the staff a bit. "Filif sent the staff to me because it needs to be in the possession of an Earth wizard for a day or so. He didn't really explain why."
