Fourth floor common room, Sunday, late morning

New term, new students, seemed like a good time to try and get back in the habit of his cooking brunch for all comers. Also, seemed like a good potential way to meet some more of the newbies.

Lana was on her way back to her room to soak in a hot bath and try to get rid of some of the aches and pains from her training, when she smelled the food. After a brief debate with herself she'd headed up the extra set of stairs figuring a meal she didn't have to cook herself was worth a delay on the bubble bath.

She smiled when she saw Dean there. "Should have known it was you," she said with a smile.

"Was it the food or the music that gave me away?" Dean asked with a grin.

"Yes," she said with a smile.

"I'm so predictable," Dean observed.

Like Teddy could ignore the smell of real food. Or not follow it to the common room to see if he could steal some before all the newbies showed up and ate all of it.

And paused.

"Dean, or are you a newbie that just happens to look like Dean, just to mess with all of us again?"

Dean chuckled. "The one and only original," he said.

Teddy grinned. "It never hurts to check around here."

"This is true. How 'bout you? Had any doubles show up?"

On returning from town, Michael had to pass the common room on his way back to the fifth floor. The music and the food smells were impossible to miss, so he stuck his head into the room.

"Hey."

"Hey," Dean replied, giving the new kid a welcoming smile.

"Michael", he introduced himself with a crooked smile in return. "Nice choice of music."

"Okay, you get points for good taste right off the bat," Dean said, grinning. "I'm Dean. Michael... you're the one who was all over the place yesterday and got into a fight with Isabel."

Amber woke up hoping there were donuts or something she could eat for breakfast in the common room. The smell of bacon and eggs made her feet pad faster down the hallway, however, and she walked in with no shyness whatsoever.

"Hi!" she said to the guy who was cooking.

"Hi," Dean replied, giving her a welcoming smile.

"I'm Amber Atkins," she smiled in return. "This smells so good!"

"Dean Winchester," Dean replied. "And help yourself. That's why I cooked so much."

"This is for the sharing, right?" she asked. "Please say it is."

Dean grinned. "It's for sharing. Even I can't eat this much alone."

"Oh good," she said with a smirk. "It's been a while since I've had a breakfast that wasn't cereal."

"Cereal can be good too. When your little brother doesn't steal it."
