Carmela's not that great a cook (well, she *can* manage a pretty decent pie, thanks to this summer's workshop, but that's baking, technically), so instead she's ordered a few pizzas and plunked them down on the table in the common room for anyone who'd like any. Jenny followed the smell of pizza down the hall from her room. "I smell Italian," she announced from the door to the common room. "More importantly, I see Italian."

"All the more reason, then!" Jenny said cheerily.

Naminé flushed. "I can't. Er, but do let me know if there's to be another time?"

[grenfelzer]

"There's pizza if you'd like some," Carmela offers.

[ashockingbitch]

"Don't mind if I do," Jenny said around a mouthful of pepperoni. Then she swallowed and said, "Sorry. Jenny Sparks."

[grenfelzer]

"No worries. I've got a younger brother, so I've seen much, much worse in the way of table manners," Carmela says with a shrug. "Carmela Rodriguez."

"Nice to meet you, Carmela Rodriguez," Jenny said. "Always glad to find another pizza lover. What brings you to boarding school?"

"I got tired of my brother being all 'Oh no, I have to go hang out with the *whales*.' 'I've got to go to *Mars*.' 'I've got to go *halfway across the Universe*.' Like he wasn't having insane and crazy fun, secretly, every minute of the day. Next thing I know? There's a brochure for this place in my parents' mailbox." Carmela explains.

Jenny laughed. "Yeah, that would get annoying. But I've been to all of those places, and trust me, not all they're cracked up to be."

[grenfelzer]

Carmela snickers. "Yeah. Found that one out when I sort of... followed him last time he went traipsing off with all his wizard friends. The *Crossings* is cool. Especially now that they've cleared up all the rubble. But Rashah was pretty much 'ooh, look at us, we're giant bugs with a giant evil hive mind'. Ick."

"Haven't been to those places in particular, but ew, bugs with an evil hive mind are never fun," Jenny told Carmela. "I share your pain."

[grenfelzer]

"Especially when the one controlling the evil hive mind is the Lone Power," Carmela shudders a bit. It may have been over a year ago, but the memory's still just as unpleasant as it ever was.

"Not sure what the Lone Power is," Jenny said, "but it doesn't sound good."

[grenfelzer]

"It's, um. You know the Powers That Be... whatever?" Carmela asks.

[ashockingbitch]

"No," said Jenny with a shrug. "But I killed God, does that count?"

[grenfelzer]

"Totally," Carmela nods. "Because the Lone Power is the Power... thingie, that like, got into an argument with the other Power thingies? And then pretty much picked up its toys and left. But I blew it up! At least, the evil-giant-bug version of it. It was kind of mad at me for that."
