She thought for a moment, then made a gesture and spoke a series of words. "You, of course, won't remember any of the important parts of this conversation. What you will remember is that you learned something that makes you suspect that this whole thing was a set-up arranged by Sam and Cedric and they asked Lana to help them out. The details of how? Well, your devious little mind can make them up. All you need to know is that you think they may have played you. That they used you as you have used so many others. Not that you'll want to confront them directly. You wouldn't want to let them know what you suspect."
Isobel smirked at him. "Yes, I think that should just about do it. Any last words before I release the spell?"

She gestured absently and spoke the last word needed to release the spell. "Goodbye, Jack," she said sweetly.

Shaking his head, he backed away, "No." He would not believe that. It wasn't true.
He kept repeating it, over and over in his head like a mantra, as he turned and walked away.
