Talent Show, Fandom High Auditorium, Friday Afternoon, 07.07.06

The all too familiar opening chords of Europe's The Final Countdown sounded and after a short delay for dramatic effect, GOB danced out onto the auditorium stage. He pulled blue and gold handkerchief chains out of both sleeves (which was difficult with a hand still in a cast) until the chains clearly met in the middle underneath his shirt. Gather. Find a seat. Talk to your neighbors.

Willow took a seat. She was relieved to not have to be on stage. Cheering from the audience she could do, no problem.

Bel settled in a seat by Willow. "Hey," he said. "How are you doing?"

"Okay," Willow said. "I think so. Sure, we're going on five whole days now which greatly increases the chances that he's been mauled by rabid hampsters, but I'm trying not to think about it."

React to GOB making less of an ass of himself than usual during his introduction.

Aeryn actually think the guy-whose-head-she-dumps-drinks-on may have a point.

"I loved magicians when they performed at my elementary school." Tim reminisced.

"First up we have... The Andrews Sisters? Hey, Tino, is this right? Huh. Yeah, the Andrews Sisters performing Mr. Sandman."

Once the introduction is made, a somewhat shy young woman takes the stage, her hair concealing her face.

"Um, hi ya'll," she says, adding a Southern drawl for no reason whatsoever. "We're the Andrews sisters and we're here to sing a little ditty for you. And I'd just like to say that this song goes out to Mr. Sam Winchester, that dark haired, lean, drink of water with a lemon slice and a rack of lamb on the side. Mmm, pretty. Anyway, enjoy!"

Another shy young woman took to her mic as the first girl faded back to another microphone, and they were joined by another, shorter girl.

The two in the background began to rhythmically scat, "bung," along with the music, and a spotlight focused on one of the girls.

"Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream," she sang, looking entreatingly out into the audience.
"Make him the cutest that I've ever seen,
Give him two lips like roses and clover," she touched her fingertips to her lips, and continued,
"Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over.
Sandman, I'm so alone
Don't have nobody to call my own
Please turn on your magic beam
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream," she finished, carefully keeping her hair obscuring part of her face.

Said hair? Perfectly styled, as though someone had spent way, way, way, way, way, way, way, way too much time on it.

As the spotlight moved off her, she began to sing, "bung" with the other girls.

As the "bungs" concluded, the spotlight moved to another very shy girl

"Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream," she sang, bringing folded hands to the side of her face as if she were sleeping.
"Make him the cutest that I've ever seen
Give him the word that I'm not a rover," she shook one finger "no."
"Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over.
Sandman, I'm so alone
Don't have nobody to call my own
Please turn on your magic beam
Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream," she said, tilting her head with a pleading look.

The spotlight moved off her as the "bungs" returned.

Aeryn is having about the exact same reaction. Only more facepalming, less giggling. A little less.

"They're insane you realize?" Isabel asked, still giggling. "Absolutely insane."

"Next we have a lovely girl singing a song. Let's hear it for Phoebe Halliwell!"

Phoebe might have been just a little nervous. She didn't realize there were going to be so many people here.

She talked to the zombie band and then grinned as they started the music for the song she had chosen from Rent. It was one of her favorites.

Whats the time?
Well it's gotta be close to midnight
My body's talking to me
It say,'Time for danger'

It says 'I wanna commit a crime
Wanna be the cause of a fight
Wanna put on a tight skirt and flirt
With a stranger'

Phoebe tossed her leather jacket aside to reveal a tight leather top and hip hugger leather pants as she danced around the stage full of energy. Well... she had watched the movie several times and had been practicing for this.

I've had a knack from way back ( ... )
