"So . . . improvised toothbrushes can work in a pinch? Like, your finger can work if you just need something for a day or so. But toothbrushes. Toothpaste is great if you can get your hands on it," and your alien best friend didn't keep eating it, "but even just having something to scrub at your mouth with with water is helpful."
"Sweet, beautiful toothpaste," Sparkle said, sounding wistful. "And, shit, I've been known to use loose threads from my clothes or even like a few strands of hair to floss. I don't care if it's gross. Flossing is important."
Tip's eyes drifted up to the general direction of her poof. ". . . I don't think my hair would work very well for that," she said. "But loose threads, sure. Or don't restaurants sometimes have those jars of toothpicks at the hostess station? You'd have to be sneaky, but at least they're probably pretty clean."

Tip was here. And running her tongue along her teeth surreptitiously to make sure they felt clean. She'd brushed that morning after breakfast, but there was nothing like bringing up dental hygiene when you have food stuck all up in your grill.
