Picnic-ing in January - still not the best idea ever! But there were tables and chairs set up in the sun, and a nice bonfire going, and plenty of warm food for everyone to encourage socializing for as long as possible.

Ezra had returned from his holiday trip last night. Sure, he'd meant to come back before New Year's, but then there'd been a party invite and, well. Ezra wasn't very good at resisting invitations.

So, he'd delayed his return. The picnic? A good place to start. He had a plate of food in his hand and a smile on his face. Ah, newbies. More pretty people.

Xanthippe had spent the holidays with her mom's family in Connecticut.

Xanthippe, as a result, was horrified to find that she was just a little bit glad to be back here. Yeah. If anyone saw her physically shudder and make a face at the realization, she wasn't going to explain it. She just went to the food tables to see if there was anything on there she'd actually eat.

Hey, Dante was definitely game for the food.

He put his feet up on a picnic table somewhere - don't ask how he managed that without slipping off the bench - and dug into a slice of pizza.

If his coat kept sipping off his shoulders, well, the cold didn't bother him that much.
