There was a turkey following Tahiri around the classroom today -- not a real one, but a small wind-up toy, nowhere near actual size. From her resigned expression, it might be easy enough to infer that it had been following her around all day and she'd given up trying to discourage it

Are there any holidays in your culture that are clearly the almost-obligatory canon analog to Earth winter holidays similar feast-day type holidays? Which ones here do you like? Or have they mutated into something completely unrecognizable between your time and now?

Ghanima was there if anyone had questions for her, and, well, if she was occasionally picking up the tiny toy turkey and trying to send it off in another direction, it was only so Tahiri could have a moment's peace.
