Kira finally felt like she'd been here long enough to answer most questions about Fandom and the school, so she was feeling brave enough to approach new people too. "Hi there," she said with a little wave. "Did you just get here today?"

"No! I mean, not on purpose. Not that I was trying to look! But sometimes there are fire drills and they're like, always late at night when everyone's sleeping and some people don't sleep in much and... I'm just gonna stop talking." Ugh, how was she still so bad at this!

Yeah, that was not helping the blushing at all. "So, um, did you choose to come here, or did your parents send you here? Assuming you knew you were coming, which it seems like you did because you're pretty calm. I'm not sure my poor new little sibling knows how school works."
