Outdoor Adventure Time!, Tuesday, period 1

Jun 02, 2015 00:22

The class met up at the edge of the preserve again, this time, where Eliot and Parker waited, wearing white coveralls and safety goggles on their heads. The usual duffel bags of supplies were on the ground by their feet, and accompanied by several large buckets of what looked like balloons ( Read more... )

Despair for your hair, Eliot's assurances notwithstanding.

Look, Mabel wasn't going to go looking specifically for the pink and purple balloons, really. It just sort of happened that way.

By accident. Purely. Totally. Really.

She was innocent and nobody could prove otherwise!

Alluka sidled over to Mabel hopefully.

"Hi, Mabel! Will you hit me with a pink one at the clearing?" she asked.

Look, pink was her favourite colour, okay?

"I totally will," Mabel promised, grinning. "Two or three, if you really want. You can be pink all over!"

Because that was clearly the best way to be, right?

Or, you know, PAINT BALLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

If Mabel had her say in the matter, she was going to paint the whole preserve pink and purple by the end of this class. And her classmates. And probably herself. She had to check to see how well the balloons worked, after all.

So, after throwing one up into the air and letting it land on the top of her head (it worked perfectly, and now she had very purple hair), she was ready for action!

"Bring it!"

Oh, Mabel. You know better than to say stuff like that around your twin brother.

Right now he was tossing a balloon full of green paint right at you to try and cover up all that purple.

"It's brought!"

"Oh, no you did not, Dipper!"

Hey, Mabel looked a bit like the Inscrutable Bulk, now. She could totally handle that. Especially since it went so well with the way she threw back her head and gave a mighty battle cry before pelting Dipper with pink and purple balloons.

"Mabel pretty pastel power attack balloon BLAST!"

But then. . . . vdistinctive June 2 2015, 04:26:40 UTC
Eliot was sticking to the fringes, keeping an eye out to make sure no one . . . put an eye out, basically, when he noticed something lurking along the fringes.

Something large.

He narrowed his eyes, growling faintly under his breath. The thing locked eyes with him in return.

WHO CHARGES AT A CHARGING BUFFALO-RUG-PUG-THING? Even Mabel could see the crazy inherent in that course of action, Eliot, and she was... she was Mabel.

... That said, from where she was at, staring at all of that charging, (and it was alot of charging), she did have a perfect line of fire to...

"INCOMING!"

To start hurling paint balloons at the big, floppy, angry, hairy-looking creature. Have some pink, alot. Have alot of pink.

PEOPLE WHO CHARGE AT DANGER PROFESSIONALLY. Hell, the buffalo-rug-put-thing didn't even have a gun, this was practically safe by Eliot's standards.

The alot, distracted and further enraged by the pelting with pink, turned to start charging in Mabel's general direction, prompting Eliot's shout of "Dammit, Mabel!" even as the distraction gave him room to avoid its horns when he jumped onto it and grabbed its neck.

And not Eliot was alot of blue and pink. So there was that.

Never fear! Mabel was equipped to handle this!

"Grappling hook!"

Yes, she still carried that around with her to class. One never knew when a grappling hook would come in handy, out here in the woods.

So, there was Mabel, dangling safely from a tree branch as the alot stampeded along harmlessly underneath.

Eliot might end up very blue, but Parker was going to get coated in green the minute her back was turned.

Eliot pushed a strand of now blue hair out of his eyes. "Really," he said with a sigh. "I'd always heard I looked better in red."

"Red is like blood," Parker said matter-of-factly. "Or ketchup. I think blue is more you. You look good in a cop's uniform too."
