Hannibal greeted his students as usual at Portalocity, then nodded and started. "Today we will actually be jumping slightly in time, since our restaurant isn't open until the afternoon." Really, how on earth had he lived without portals

Lottie spoke even less Spanish than she did French, and her French was terrible. She went gung ho on the menu anyway, never one to let a little something like a language barrier stop her.

Arroz con coco was less exciting when it arrived than she'd anticipated. Especially as she'd managed to decide it meant "chocolate corn" instead of "coconut rice".

She was reasonably certain that the Chocolate absoluto was going to be completely amazing, though.

Apparently so are ants; I couldn't find them on the menu, but my Spanish is pretty abysmal.
