Face was in the Library bright and early today, and just like he'd promised Cassandra the day before, he was wearing a shirt and scrubbed of all traces of glitter as he set up a display of books that might be useful to new kids.

Given some of the titles though, they might only be useful in letting them know they should run at the next opportunity.

"At least you keep your word," Cassandra observed from the doorway. "I suppose that is a relief."

"I suspect that all that glitter wouldn't have gone down well with Professor Constantine," Face said.

"I have never met the man," Cassandra said, walking into the library, "He is a serious one, then?"

"I don't know if serious is quite the right word." At least not by Cassandra's standards.

"Disapproving of glitter on his books, then," Cassandra amended, "Which is understandable as it is."

It had made him feel pretty. "That stuff does take a while to come off," he said.

"I am terribly surprised to hear that," said Cassandra.

She did not sound terribly surprised to hear that.

"I am not certain what you were thinking. Or if you were thinking."

Of course Face was thinking, he just happened not to think like most people.

"I was thinking that I was providing a warm welcome too new students in one of the traditional ways of this school."

"I sincerely doubt it is an actual tradition," Cassandra said. "The squirrels are known liars."

"I have worked with them myself," Cassandra said. "I was not impressed."

"You just need to get to know them." After which her opinion probably wouldn't change, since they were borderline libellous little drunks.

"Why?" Cassandra said, stopping by the counter. "Do they somehow improve? I find that unlikely."
