Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2013, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]

The ceremony was set for right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, and the lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths in which to walk to the seating area and giving everything a twinkling, serene appearance

Ben, armed with an airhorn (for Karla) and a really obnoxious "GO TONY" sign, found a seat close to the front of the audience section.

Ender had no airhorn nor any sign. He looked dignified and only slightly like he wanted to facepalm really hard as he sat down next to Ben. But he was here.

Okay, kids, it's time to do last minute adjustments to your blue and gold robes because Pomp and Circumstance has just started playing. Pair up and start walking to your seats!

Speeches!

Just before the speeches began a man dressed in a UPS uniform scuttled up to the front of the stage carrying several large cardboard boxes labeled ACME.

The shipping receipt was small and smudged, but people with sharp eyes might be able to just make out the name "C. Toymaker" on it.

But that can't be important! Speeches! Speeches were important!

"This is always one of my favorite and least favorite days," Zoe said as she looked out at the soon-to-be graduates. "Some of you have only been here for a short time, and for some of you, I can't believe you're actually getting ready to leave us. I have to remind myself that your homes and your families and loved ones will be better off having you back. I hope that you've learned everything here that you wanted to learn, and I'm glad that so many of you have chosen to stay over the summer so we don't have to say goodbye just yet. Above everything, just know how very proud of you we all are, and congratulations."

Once the speeches were over, Principal Winchester came back up to the podium, and called each graduate's name to give them their diploma.
