"Well, I can't easily make that decision without knowing the situation," Jack argued. "In general? I'd save the many over the one. However I would qualify that by saying I'd need to know the who, why and what before I made a final decision."

"Well, yeah," Jack said, "Or if the five people are Nazi Criminals and the one person is a nun. We can always say that the needs of the many outweigh the one or the few but I can't make a snap decision without looking at the repercusions of the one person's death or the five."

Jack shrugged. "Kill the one person and hope for the best. Unless I can switch places with the one person."
