This place just kept getting more and more surreal. But pretty! And that was the important thing.
"You're looking a little shellshocked," Cindy observed dryly. "Did you just finish talking to our VP?"

"Uhhh, no," she said, turning back to Alistair. "She's new. The VP is the bizarre man in red with the swords who refuses to make sense."
Extending her hand, she added, "I'm Cindy. Cindy Perrault. Around here, though, making sense is kind of relative."

He smiled, glanced down at Cindy's hand, and wondered if this is where he did the handkissing... thing. She was a lady, after all. Maybe she expected that kind of thing? "I'm Alistair, of the Grey Wardens," he offered. "Do you want me to, uh..."
... That was probably a stupid question.
