Unconventional Tactics, Tuesday, Period 2

"Yo, Rookies!" Starting class this way was pretty much tradition now, yes. "Hope you all had yourselves a good stupid holiday, and didn't end up doin' somethin' completely idiotic, like runnin' around as a giant chicken throwin' candy in people's faces, yo ( Read more... )

You know the drill for these lecture things by now, Rookies.

Raven had managed to drag herself from her room today to go to class, though she still was unsettled and unsure of herself. She kept quiet and to herself for the most part.

Kennedy had really not done much of anything since getting back Friday-- scaled-down versions of her usual workouts, and going for food, but mostly hanging out in the dorms with Tara and concentrating really hard on trying to keep things normal.

That... wasn't gonna work for the duration of class, was it? Usually she looked happier about this. Not that she looked bothered; it was just that her enthusiasm level was considerably lower than normal.

Magic against magic? Easiest class ever.

But paying attention was polite, so there was Zatanna, being attentive.

Mmmm, subthread times. Feel free to attack these things solo, or in small groups. Some of them are easier with a partner, but maybe you enjoy a challenge, right?

Darkness! raspberryturk November 2 2010, 11:18:40 UTC
This is exactly what it sounds like. You've been hit by a darkness spell, which means that you can't see anything outside of your little bubble of pitch. You can rely on your senses to figure out what's going on out there and just hang out until it wears off, or you can do something about it. What gets rid of darkness? The light, of course. And before you hit by the bubble, you might have happened to see a table with a flashlight on it on the other side of the room...

Raven liked the darkness. She felt safer there, hidden even. So she was quite content to spend most of the class in her little bubble.

There was darkness and then there was pitch black. Relying on his hearing and nose to keep from bumping into anyone, Jake started to make his way across the room.

Hopefully, they can think their way out of these pickles, too!

Thinking was a big word, but Jake was convinced he'd manage it. Then again, he thought that about pretty much anything.

He had been tempted to use his Pyramid materia on all of you and just let you chill out in a translucent yellow prism that could only be broken from the outside for the rest of the period so that he could nap, but he decided he was nicer than that.
