"Hi guys," Dean said, once the class had all got settled in their seats.
"So last week, we did the introductions and most of you did pretty good imitations of a stoplight," he continued with a grin. "Which, hopefully, if you get one thing out of this class, it'll be that this stuff is nothing to be embarrassed about.
"To get you started on that, this week we'll be doing what I affectionately call
'The Talk.'
"Now I'm going to assume you all know the very basics, where babies come from, the whole insert tab a into slot b spiel. If not, ask me or one of my TA's and we'll go over those details. Really, Sammy loves sharing knowledge, don't you Sammy?" Dean grinned at his little brother before getting back to his lecture.
"So you've heard about this sex thing. You know the basics, and you're curious about how that all works, what the rules are, and all that. Certain things are going to be vary from situation to situation, but there's some things that are, as far as I'm concerned, always going to be important.
"First off, sex is nothing to be embarrassed about, but at the same time, it's nothing you should ever pressure someone into, or let someone pressure you into. So yeah, no means no, and no is not a dirty word.
"More than that, this is something that requires full disclosure. Make sure everyone is on the same page -- if it's just fun or a symbol for something more or whatever. Best way to avoid awkward conversations later and hurting people you don't mean to. Honesty's the best policy and really, it should be the only one."
Dean grinned. "Beyond that, anything goes. Girl/boy is all great and fun, yeah, but there's nothing wrong with girl/girl or boy/boy as long as everyone's consenting. Two is fun, three or even more can be just as fun. Hell, you can have a lot of fun with just one and your imagination. It's a great cure for boredom, let me tell you.
"As for actual mechanics, basically if it feels good, do it. If it doesn't, don't. Everyone's different and has different hot buttons, part of the fun of sex is finding out your own and your partner's.
"Look, sex is a big thing that's probably new to a lot of you, but it shouldn't be scary or shameful or any of that crap. It should be something fun and pleasurable and awesome. Don't get hung up so much on if you're doing things right or wrong or how everyone else is doing it. If you and your partner(s) are good with it, it's all good."
Dean clapped his hands together. "So assignment. I want everyone to write a list of things they want to try some time with the right person. Everything -- and that includes stuff like holding hands and staring longingly into each other's eyes if that's what floats your boat. It helps to know what you're after, and what you absolutely don't want. You can make a list of that stuff too. I'm not going to make you share what you write with each other or with me unless you want to, this is more to help you get it all straight in your own head." He grinned. "Because next week we'll be talking about how to find someone to do all this stuff with."
[ooc:omg I fail at getting class up at a reasonable time. *headdesk*]
