[Creatures of Nature - 5th Period - 7/9]

Jul 09, 2007 00:15

D had sent out a handwavy notice to his students, directing them to meet at a clearing within the preserve a short way behind the school.

Teal Deer aren't here, but they should be. )

Approach the Unicorn whathasbeenlost July 9 2007, 09:05:25 UTC
The unicorn stands waiting, dark eyes curious but wary. If you would like to approach, you must be a virgin - if you have to ask, you're probably not. Men, be careful, but those of you who have been chaste may attempt to come close.

[OOC: Like it says, if you have to ask, you're probably not. If you're not sure, ping me OOC or on IM.]

"Ain't you just the most gorgeous thing ever?"

Yeah, this would just about completely destroy any bad ass reputation she might have.

The unicorn looked even more pleased and even posed, standing in what looked like a slightly uncomfortable but very pretty way. "I would not say the most," he demurred. "But thank you, lady."

"You're welcome," Jo said, beaming at him. "Definitely the most I've seen though."

"I will not argue," the unicorn said, preening. "If you would like, you can pet me."

Karal asked Altra to stay back, and the Firecat rolled his eyes but did so. Approaching the unicorn as he would a strange horse, slowly and cautiously, one hand held out before him, Karal called out softly, "Hello there. It's all right. I will not hurt you, and I will quite happily stay here, if you wish."

The unicorn lifted his head and sniffed the air, tail twitching slightly. He calmed almost immediately though and bowed his head (which was maybe not as reassuring as he thought it would be, considering the horn). "You may come close. I will not do you harm," he said.

Karal couldn't help smiling, and while the horn was slightly worrying, he believed the unicorn when it said it would not harm him. "Thank you, very much," he said as he walked closer, still slow and careful, eyes wide with wonder. "You are so beautiful, even more than a companion. May I?" He raised one hand, feeling odd about asking another seemingly sentient creature if he could pat it.

He nodded very slightly, watching Karal from one eye as he stood still. "You may," he intoned. "What is a companion?"

Karal stroked his neck, marvelling at the feel. "A companion is shaped like a horse, but perfect, beautiful, all white, with silver hooves and blue eyes, but they are spirits in mortal form, and they are forces for good in the world."

"Then I am honored to be compared so favorably," the unicorn said, sounding pleased as he leaned slightly into Karal's touch.

Karal smiled, a little shy, and stroked him more firmly, daring to move his hand to rub a spot behind his ears that he'd found all horses - and Companions - seemed to like. "Thank you very much for coming to our class. It is an honour to meet you."

Isabel was not making any attempt to go near the unicorn. Because well...She just wasn't. But that didn't stop her from watching it carefully from well across the clearing. Sometimes, Fandom was awesome.

Aravis inclined her head respectfully. "Good afternoon. How does the day find you?" she asked, slowly approaching.

"It finds me well and in good company," the unicorn replied, looking pleased. "How does it find you?"

"Overly warm," Aravis said with a little smile. "You're very lovely. I've never seen a unicorn before."
