War Theory, Thursday, 4th Period

Honor stood at the front of the classroom, dressed a little differently than per her normal. The Royal Manticoran Navy uniform or casual khakis had been exchanged for a long, flowing white dress, over which she wore a vest of teal green. It was the same green that her bodyguard, Andrew LaFollet wore with his uniform, recognized on her homeworlds as ( Read more... )

Now this was something a little different. Setsuna was eagerly, quickly writing down thourough notes as the lecture went on. Once the lecture concluded, she frowned over a few details, flipped through the packet a little, then raised her hand with a question, althought tentatively, because she was wondering if she should wait to bring it to the table next week if the trip fell through. But it would nag on her too much if she didn't ask.

"How could the people of Grayson honestly exile their most extreme enemies to a different planet and not expect a future act of revenge, especially considering the severity of such high-charged religious beliefs?" She shook her head a bit; sure, they were talking about different worlds here, but it was all so possively...Western.

"I guess one answer might be the idea that Masadans never gave that impression. Once they settled, there was little communication between the two worlds, and certainly no indicators that the Masadans wanted anything other than to be left alone." Honor pursed her lips. "Another might be that, all things aside, they were still Grayson -- they had been part of the society, had descended from the same ancestors. That the Masadans could betray them so badly, I think was, well, unthinkable for the Graysons."

Setsuna considered these reasons carefully. "I suppose you're right; it doesn't sound like they've had all that much of a military history to build off from, so I guess they wouldn't have had as much foresight into such things...."

Honor took her time packing her things after class, hovering in case anyone had any questions they didn't want to ask in class.
