BDE: Finale! Sign-Ups and Such!
Hey, folks!
Now that you've all had a day to get into the swing of the AU, it's time to talk finale! This BDE finale will be liberally spread out across the weekend, and much of it will come down to individual battle plans rather than scripted sequences.
On the evening of Saturday, July 28th the resistance will storm/attack/sneak into the school and finally break all the imprisoned people out of detention. As of this post, everyone in the resistance can consider themselves aware of the plan to get into detention somehow, but there's no solid plan yet. Saturday's post will hence largely be shaped by your interactions leading up to it. However, we expect there'll be brawling!
On Sunday, July 29th the resistance will be done regrouping enough to make another attempt on the school, bolstered by the newly freed, and take out Umbridge! This'll be our big beat 'em up brawl where fighting, outsmarting, sneaking, or running away can occur as everyone sees fit.
Instead of fielding a formal Away Team, a couple of you are going to stumble upon Umbridge herself (protecting her own pink-clad posterior while her minions are distracted by the final battle), take care of the problem, and bring us back to Fandom normal once and for all. This very small group is going to be RNGed, so sign up below if you're interested! Sign-ups end on Wednesday, July 25th at noon PST. Detentionees welcome.
Will characters remember the events of the week?
Yep! We're operating on AU weekend procedures here: the events of the week themselves will be crystal clear. Any AU background otherwise, however, is going to be hazy.
But there's time travel involved! What about the date gap? Shouldn't we bounce back to July 22nd?
Nope! Again, we're going back to AU weekend procedures. Your characters will have been running around the island as their AU selves for the entire week. Every spot of history before Umbridge's escape on July 22nd, though, will be back to normal, as is all time after July 29th.
