Good evening, everyone. For those of you whom I haven't yet had the pleasure to meet, I'm Principal Winchester, and I'll be bringing you the news this evening. Don't worry, no one will get detention from what I end up reading. Probably.
School News
Starting out the day, the
Spaceships 101 class did the usual round of
introductions so Jaina could find out how good everyone is in the cockpit.
Ben checked in on Cally, and found out that she's having some trouble adjusting to Fandom. Hopefully, that won't last for long. The first week is always one of the most difficult to deal with, but it gets much better from there.
The
Unconventional Tactics class learned about some of the different kinds of invasions that have happened in Fandom in the last few years; Reno asked the students to
introduce themselvs with the usual information and by telling an invasion they went through, or at least know about.
The
Cigar is Not a Cigar class got a rundown on what the class will be all about -
symbolism and things like that - and then the students had to
introduce themselves and talk about a symbol they'd seen on their way to class. I always wonder if the students get tired of saying their names in weeks like this, but it doesn't seem that difficult, really.
And finally,
Mathematics of Quantum Neutrino Fields got a
lecture about how they're all idiots mixed in with neutrinos explanation, before Professor Farnsworth fell asleep. Luckily, he did wake up in time to give the students their
homework.
...yeah, I might have to keep an eye on that one.
At the library,
Rinoa was reading a romance novel to pass the time of her shift, which
Alexander got to hear all about when he asked her what she was up to.
William came in, needing some help finding technical manuals,
Zatanna was looking for history books, and
Henry was dealing with mounds of paperwork. Oh, how I comisserate. I just hope the library's paperwork doesn't self-multiply like mine does.
Over at the teacher offices,
Anakin had office hours, and got a visit from
Raven, who wanted to talk about the new students and how she was feeling about them. Hopefully, she's feeling happy, since they're all nice? What can I say, I'm still an optimist sometimes.
Jaina also stopped by to talk about the flight simulator and her students, which I'm sure wasn't strange for Anakin at all. You children need to stop growing up, that's all I'm saying.
Deadpool was in his office watching children's cartoons, and I'm going to be very nice and suggest that he was watching them to see if they were appropriate viewing material for Jan.
Ghanima came by to visit, and they talked about getting a group together to go bowling and beer drinking, and in case anyone is wondering, they need other people to join them too.
*chittering*
Yes, I know, they didn't give you a bribe, but I'm announcing it anyway. That's how I roll, as they say.
Anakin also dropped by to mock Deadpool for his cartoon watching - I mean research - and their conversation quickly devolved into a taunt fest. Oh boys.
Finally,
Fraser was in his office, doing some paperwork of his own. I bet he uses Canadian magic to keep it from multiplying. I might have to get him to teach me his ways.
Dorm News
Momoko woke up early this morning to find Azula in her room, ready to drag her outside for training, and
George woke up to find a yellow post-it note that made her swear. I can't say I've ever gotten that emotional over office supplies, but to each their own.
Faramir was listening to lessons about learning how to read, which drew
Dolf to his room, and they talked about how far they'd come to end up at Fandom, and their theories on how they'd gotten here. In his own room,
Dolf set up his phone, and found that he already had voicemail waiting for him. Voicemail is frighteningly sneaky like that sometimes.
Percy was lying on his bed, looking at his textbooks. Hopefully, there was some reading going on there as well.
Kate talked to her brother via webcam, asking for advice about what to wear on her job interview, and
Bobby Drake spotted her and wanted to know why she was dressed like a ninja. Because that's the job she's interviewing for, I suppose? I've heard stranger things. Kate also got a phonecall from
Hannibal, and got caught up with him, and
Jaime was being emo in his room until Momoko stopped by to chat with him.
The
Reserve had their first meeting of the semester today, which was mostly a meet and greet of old members and new. After Zack, Kennedy, and Maladicta gave everyone a rundown of what the group is for, everyone had the chance to enjoy some
cookies and coffee while they mingled.
James and Leda made time to say hello to each other, and
Zack,
Kennedy, and
Maladicta made themselves available for anyone who wanted to talk;
Alexander was especially happy to see Maladicta getting involved with the group. Then everyone played an introductory game of
I Never: each person gave their name, rank, and something they'd never done, and whoever had done that thing had to drink some coffee. I imagine this ended up being a very hyper meeting. But, coffee is better than the alcohol you all drink at those I Never parties you think I don't know about, so I can't complain.
Over at the salle,
James was working with his longsword, and up in the second floor common room,
William was learning about the entertainment value of the television.
Ariel wanted to know what he was watching, which turned out to be something about carburetors that intrigued them both. It's too bad Kaylee isn't here still - she could tell you all about that sort of thing if you were really interested.
Blackagar and Ariel made faces at each other in silent conversation, and
Blackagar and William introduced themselves, and conversed via Blackagar's helpful pad of paper.
Rilla and William were apparently "super adorable" at each other, which I believe means it's only a matter of time before the glitter flags come out, and
Ariel and Rilla excitedly caught up after not seeing each other for a while.
Elphaba and William talked about why people seem to like the television so much, and
Ariel introduced herself to Elphaba, and tried to find out why her skin is green without being rude about it. I'm not sure if that's possible, but it's certainly nice to try.
Blackagar introduced himself to Elphaba, and
Rilla insisted on pointing out that Elphaba is green, which I am certain she's never heard before like that, ever.
Bruce asked William about what he was reading when he wasn't watching the television, and
Sara wanted to know if what William was watching was interesting, which, at least, it was to him.
Town News
Ah, we've reached the home stretch of notes now.
Shiba was sitting in front of her house, smoking and mixing unidentified powders. Those don't sound like two things that should mix, but at least she wasn't doing it inside?
Azula and Momoko went out to the beach for their training, which involved water balloons today. Ino had loud music playing while she wrote at
Covent Garden Flowers, and she got a visit from
Shunsui, who stopped by to purchase some tulips. Cable was working on some new semester paperwork at
Wellspring Arms while Jan watched Dora. See, that just verifies my idea about Deadpool and his research, so there you go.
Loki was napping behind his desk at the
MHA, and Jono had some uplifting music going at
Groovy Tunes when
Christian stopped by for band practice, and ended up getting a job.
Ariel came by to wish Jono a happy Tuesday, and they talked about nosy people,
Delirium came in to check up on Jono, but he wasn't sure what to say to her, and
Azula got Jono to talk a little about how it's just a bad week before the conversation shifted to what kind of music she likes.
Hinata had tea and a kitten at
Book Haven, Raven was cleaning everything she could at
Dite's Decadent Delights, Shunsui broke open a bottle of sake for celebration at
Turtle and Canary, and Mary decorated the lobby of the
Arms Hotel with balloons.
Ariel was back at
Pixie Dust with her sign about kisses with purchases in the window, and
Christian came by for some awkward conversation about her disappearance and reappearance. Jane painted a sign to look for new workers at
Strokes of Genius, and
Shunsui stopped by to tell her that the sign should be bigger, before he invited Jane to dinner. Awww, that's kind of sweet.
Hawkeye was dressed in a tux and spent his day at the
clinic waltzing with the nurses. Hawkeye, I don't know if I've mentioned this enough, but I've missed you very much. Tino was in charge of the bar tonight at
Caritas, and
GOB came by for a visit to what I imagine was one of his favorite places here, and talked to Tino about running a Three Minute Date Night since no one has done one in a while.
And that appears to be all the notes the squirrels managed to get down today. If you avoided them in your activities, well done, I applaud your efforts. To all of you, have a safe night, and don't do anything I won't want to hear about tomorrow.
