I'm re-watching, and now that I'm not so caught up in YAY TEAM, I'm getting interested in ol' John. Like, he's faster and stronger than he should be. 'Course, nobody said he was human, necessarily. Also, since rehab worked so well, it could be some kind of drug. Hmm. Don't know why I'm bringing this up, just babbling.
Random thoughts: They did a Year of Hell reaction bit! Thank god! Love Jack and Ianto! How is it possible that Jack looks younger now than he did in DW S3? Oh my god, I'm actually liking Gwen this season! Finally!
I'm. Kind of apathetic about Owen/Tosh and Owen and Tosh in general. I just like that it *did* something this time, or seemed to, I guess. It's just not MY dynamic, I guess.
And and. YES. Very much perfect and wow I'm happy.
Yes - I think my lack of enthusiasm for Owen/Tosh is - well, first and foremost, that I find Owen so unsexy that I don't care what he feels for, or does with, anyone - at least in terms of sex. I do have some interest in his rather interesting professional and pesonal relationship with Jack.
But if they pair Owen with Tosh, it's like taking the two characters they have nothing much to do with otherwise, and pairing them as a sort of default. I want them to do something unexpected there - like Tosh/Mary was unexpected and like Owen/Diane was unpredictable. If Owen and/or Tosh suffer from being a little boring and bland on their own (and to my eyes, they do), then that blandness if multiplied if they are put together.
But what's to complain in a minor potential subplot when all the rest was so much fun?
I'm still kind of in *flail* OMG YAY mmmph! mode. But yes, Ianto was GREAT and Owen was oddly awesome and I squealed far too much at the sight of Jack with an open shirt in the promo at the end and just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Oh oh oh, and "This is what I come back for" meaning 'come back from death' instead of 'come back from where I disappeared to'. That killed me!

Heh--if Rose had used a Star Wars reference instead of Trek, Jack would've gotten it, it seems.

Jack. Breaking my heart, making me gape, and making me laugh - sometimes all at once.
And sometimes in quick succession. It was all rather perfect.
