I haven't read anything in this fandom before but I did love the books, and I enjoyed this a lot. I like how it doesn't even occur to Ender that there could be something between him and Petra because he only thinks of her as a friend, though maybe seeing her with Peter changes that. And the caring and understanding between Ender and Val was also really nice.

Thanks for this; the fics you chose to use to produce this are all ones of which I am proud so it was fun to see the way the synthesis worked. The Wiggin family dynamics are great in this; I love Ender and Val's rapport and it's perfectly believable that oh-so-perceptive Val would have a blind spot when it came to Peter, especially Peter's romantic life. And I just love this whole exchange, because it's all just so true, cutting to the core of the characterizations:

Ender wasn't smiling. "Petra's a big girl, she can take care of herself."

"Well, she shouldn't have to. Not with him." She swallowed a spoonful of sorbet.

"You think you can stop them?"

"I am Demosthenes, you know. I've helped end wars."

"I know." He studied her. "But you think you can stop them?"
