[Mayday] weirdweb July 19 2007, 17:48:48 UTC
It took May a second to pinpoint where the voice was coming from, due in part to the rain and due in part to the fact that her bangs kept trying to flatten themselves across her eyes. Which was yet another reminder that she was overdue for a haircut.

Not like she was getting one any time soon.

She swiped them out of her eyes again and finally spotted the green guy waving to her from the shelter of a nearby lean-to. Her own shelter was a good distance away, and it looked like everyone else had taken cover (save Molly and River, but that was obviously intentional), and it didn't look like anyone needed help securing a roof over their heads anymore.

Bad timing or not, May was not a moron. "Sure, thanks," she said, hurrying over and scooting in beneath the lean-to. "I've still been here long enough to know better by now. Didn't notice the clouds til it was too late." Finally clawing the last of her bangs out of her eyes and wiping her face off, she got a good look at him. "Bill, right? I suck at remembering names."

"Right you are, May," Bill said. "Bill Campbell at your service."

Bill looked out at the rain and the flicker of lightning behind the clouds. "It's been a while since I sat through a thunderstorm," he said. "It's nice to look at, though I suppose it'll get old soon if it happens every day.

"Ain't that the way, though? You start off admiring something, then you get used to having it around all the time and pretty soon you're taking it for granted or even grumbling about it."

Bill looked at May again. "You've been here about a month, I understand," he said, gesturing one hand to encompass the whole camp. "What's the scoop? Who's a good egg, and who should I avoid?"

Faith didn't mind the rain. She didn't exactly want to sit out in it and have lightening-gasms for the full time of the storm, but neither did she rush to get back to her shelter. She watched all her fellow castaways scurrying for cover, with an amused smile ( ... )

[Bill] There's always room for babes! sinanju July 20 2007, 03:57:52 UTC
Bill looked up at the young woman who had approached while he was talking to May. (Wow,) Bill thought. Long dark hair (currently plastered to her head and shoulders) and great figure. A tank top and shorts that would just barely conceal her assets under the best of circumstances; soaked through and clinging to her skin that way, she might just as well have been naked.

Not that she seemed to mind. She stood over them with her fists on her hips like she was Queen of the Island surveying her subjects. She met his gaze as if she knew what Bill was thinking. Which, he admitted to himself, she probably did. She was hot and she knew it.

"Well, hell, darlin,'" Bill said, "there's always room in my home for beautiful women! Come on in and sit a spell. It's not much as homes go, but it's looking better already."
