"Alright Susan, strip and up. You know the drill."
Stephen's words came as a greeting to her, and she turned towards her friend, raised a single brow and straightened her back. Her hands moved in gesture, back and forth-- "Hello, Ivanova. How are you, Ivanova? Sleep well, Ivanova? Good, glad to hear it, Ivanova," came rapid fire in response, a half-smirk lighting her expression.
Her hands came to rest on her hips, the smirk still firmly in place. "Taking lessons from Garibaldi on how to romance a girl? Really, Stephen... the least you could do is some flowers... a little dinner... maybe a little mood music, promise of dancing under the stars..."
Susan crossed as she spoke, however, realizing that there was that bit of the inevitable that was going to play out. 'Breathe in... out'...

Stephen reached over to some items on the table and turned and handed the things to Susan. It was a piece of fruit and a handful of wildflowers, "Dinner and Flowers, now strip." See, he had been listening all those years. "Sorry, I can't provide the mood music since I haven't found a working radio. This will have to do."
Besides, Stephen had gotten all of the pleasantries out over the fire this morning... well okay so it wasn't exactly pleasantries, but it had been amusing. This was bound to be amusing as well, even if it would get him killed. At least Stephen appeared to be in good spirits. Grumpy doctors are never good after all.

Still, even the commander bows to necessity, and she turned around to pull her shirt off before jumping up to settle in on the makeshift exam table. She's toned; very little fat can be found, and she sat in her bra, her shirt in her hands. The shorts remain!

No, Stephen intends to make different mistakes, like the one he is about to make now. At least he knows he's dead and can settle in and take it like a man later. For now though he waits for Susan to get settled before looking over his shoulder, "Doctors, I could use a consult in here... Maybe a second opinion."
(Cue, enter other doctors... We promise to slow down a little now) :)

It's all in the personalities. It's not so much 'uncomfortable', but more... a prank.

John walked into the infirmary, set on setting up some kind of appointment for his own exam, the one he'd heard Stephen talking about. It had been years since he'd had any kind of physical done of any kind. He figured now was as good a time as any, but Stephen's words caused him to pull up short. His eyes widened at the sight of the Commander sitting on one of the exam tables, topless except for a bra.
John felt an instant blush come to his cheeks and he coughed, clearing his throat and looking away. The Commander definitely had ample ... assets. "Looks like I came at the absolutely wrong time, although I won't say I'm in the wrong place." He kept his eyes averted, but he was pretty sure it was a sight he wouldn't ever soon forget. "Too bad I'm not a doctor, I'd volunteer for that exam, but I'm fairly certain Aeryn will kill me, resurrect me and then kill me again"

Why, suddenly, did it occur to Susan that 'sparring' suddenly became a euphemism? Just the thought made the woman look away from Pierson, but she continued theatrically brightly, "See, I like surprises. Mysteries, not so much. Surprises, I'm all for." She came up short with Stephen's bright announcement, or rather, offer. For the record? Not that kind of surprise.
"Stephen!" She hadn't considered -that- part, and-and... well, right here, right now was the -last- place she wanted it done. Breasts were one thing, being laid out (no pun intended) in front of god and man? She hadn't yet experienced the joy of childbirth, so there were just some areas that were still ( ... )
