Daniel was sitting there, that line between his brows forming, sure to give him premature wrinkles.  His back was straight, his shoulders tense.  He needed this.  He deserved this.  And oh, ( Read more... )

Susan watched the proceedings a moment, stepping aside with a larger smile as Sam and Dean entered the fray. She nodded at the 'hey babe' greeting, though her head turned slightly and her brows rose. There were things to get used to, certainly.

Molly-- the commander picked her way, carefully, dodging some of the more hastily tossed fruit. A -very- ripe plum, however, on a slightly off-course path meant for River got her as a glancing blow on her shoulder with a *splat*. She winced as her arm came up instinctively to wipe the goo away.

"I'll start phase two," she stage whispered to the sidhe, attempting to keep a keen eye out for another 'blow'.

She needed to go find the next stage of operation, 'Keep Daniel occupied for the day'... Hey, she didn't name it. While he was occupied with non-business, the others could pick up the slack-- Scott, Sam, John... she could make sure there was 'round the clock' protection for the scientists, who were gearing up to spend as much time in the ... sphere as god and daylight would allow ( ... )

After that it was a free for all. It would occasionally turn to boys against the girls, but mostly it was everyone for themselves. Everyone in the battle got pretty much covered. Molly had an idea that River LET herself be hit more than half the time ( ... )

By the time the fruit was all gone Peyton was laughing and trying to catch her breath from all the running around she had been doing. She pushed her hands over her face so she'd be able to see without getting fruit juice in her eyes.

She grinned at Molly's suggestion and laughed lightly at River's words.

"You've got it," she nodded and walked over to Daniel, picking up his right leg to help carry him off as best she could.

Although Dean was glad to see Danny smiling for once, he was even more grateful to see his brother kicking back. Sure, he didn't have Daniel's responsibilities, but Sammy was worried about the demon hitching a ride with him. They both were.

River led the juicy, sandy procession with a high-stepping march. Her melon helmet and branch serving as a drum major's mace lent her an air of absurd authority.

When they had nearly walked into the swimming hole River did an abrupt about-face. "Company HALT!"

The company halted, chuckling. Daniel gave one last half-hearted buck.

River studied the short distance between Daniel and the water. "Optimal trajectory is 30 degrees." She somersaulted out of the way, somehow keeping the melon on her head. "Fire!"

Peyton, Sam, Jon, and Molly fired. Their aim was superb.

((OOC: Okay, I thought that the problem with my notifications was fixed, but clearly I missed this post *points up* and didn't see it until after I'd written up my post. So we'll just say that this one came before Dean's.))

"Can't a man have any dignity?" Daniel squirmed and kicked his legs. It was futile and he knew it, but this went beyond good fun and having a laugh. He was being hauled bodily through the camp and -

(Jack would have a field day.)

He would have to beg ask McKay to not include this in any reports.

"Lemme think about it." Jon gave a dramatic pause. "No. Nope. Uh-uh. No way."

"I can get you restricted to base," Daniel threatened in the first language that popped into his head, which quite un-suprisingly was Ancient Egyptian ( ... )

Daniel instinctively held his breath right before hitting the water with a loud splash. He stopped himself just short of swimming back toward the surface. Instead, he dove back down and swam beneath the surface toward the other side of the bathing hole, hoping to make it slightly upstream and beneath the camouflage of the jungle before coming up for air.

It was a horrible thing to do - if he could hold his breath that long and pull it off - but really, it was a bit of well-deserved revenge.
