I saw some howlers this week:

1. "fowl" for "foul" [In the past I saw for "poultry" for "paltry." Could be a chicken fancier.]

2. "infirmary" for "infirmity"

They might, if you use "phase" as a verb to stun someone with a phaser.

Well, I'll be sure not to do that when there's an English teacher around. :) The sad part is that I bet there are a lot of people out there who've used it that way.
