Cool! I don't feel so abnormally casual about contractions anymore.

My natural tendency to use contractions in 3rd person narration used to worry me so much about form that I'd convert an entire story to 1st person to justify them.

Thank you. :-) I'm so used to naturally eliding as I read that some full forms will knock me out of the reading groove. Different strokes, etc.
