Oh thank you for this article. It's exactly my thoughts on this. One of the most amusing examples of overuse of descriptive dialogue words can be found in the "Twilight" novels. I was in hysterics when I got through multiple pages of "he smirked" "I growled" "he muttered" "I whispered" etc.
