Anonymous asks, "What is the difference between 'to wonder' and 'to wander'?"

The basic difference that you have to remember is that "wondering" is about thought processes, and "wandering" is about distance. But there are some caveats to that, so read on!

This probably isn't the right place for this, but I'd like to recommend a series of these for commonly confused words: further vs. farther, rise vs. raise, lie vs. lay, fallow vs. follow, etc. I see these mistakes all the time.

We've actually covered some of those, as well as quite a few other similar words groups. Click the "similar words" tag on this entry to see a bunch of the posts--we've done discrete/discreet, affect/effect, loose/lose, and yes, farther/further and lie/lay too!

I don't think I've seen rise/raise or fallow/follow on the question post, though, so I will add those to our To Do list. Thanks! Feel free to suggest any other topics you'd like to see us cover: Question post.

How did I miss that?! Thanks. The difference between affect and effect doesn't like to stay in head. It's good to know it's always within reach.
