The Red Cross, in partnership with the Victorian government, is launching the Red Cross Victorian Floods Appeal 2011. Funds raised will be used to support individuals, families and communities in areas affected by the 2011 Victorian floods. Donations can be made at their website here.

There was a note from the QPS saying that Operation Angel out of Melbourne sent a shipment of gumboots for the volunteers.

Yes, I'm pretty sure new gumboots are an exception to the "money, not goods" rule. Apparently a lot were sent from NZ too.

These are a necessity, especially after our former PM got an infection by NOT wearing boots.
