Natalie paused just outside the door, steeling herself. The time had come. She simply had to get in there and change his bandage, check his temperature -- those things that doctors on rounds are supposed to do. Well, nurses, technically, but there aren't any, so...

She frowned at herself. You're stalling. Stop stalling. Just...go. Drawing in a deep breath -- more from habit than need -- she eased into the room. Her attention went immediately to the form on the bed. His eyes closed, she thought he might still be asleep. She turned toward the door, hoping to slip out unnoticed.

Angel stirred, preternatural senses picking up on the newcomer. He opened his eyes a slit but did not move. He didn't know who this was. No harm in being cautious.

Her hand reached for the door and... stopped. She shook her head. She couldn't run away. She couldn't not do her job simply because she was afraid of being found out. It was wrong -- it even felt wrong, grated against her last nerve.

With a new found resolve, forced though it was, she turned and moved to the supply cabinet. There, she withdrew fresh gauze, tape, gloves, and antiseptic. Her hesitation as she stood was barely visible to the outside observer.

A lab coat-clad doctor rounded the corner from the lab. She appeared a bit distracted, maybe even a touch worried. "Ah, yeah," she said. A flicker of recognition forced a slight smile. "He...will probably be glad to see you."

Kids have playgrounds...Nat has the lab. Intermittently, there was the disturbing sound of clanking and clattering, however, followed by a few expletives whispered harshly.
