Natalie slipped into the clinic, picking up Angel's chart as she passed the front desk. The room was dark, and she flipped on a nearby lamp. She hovered under the little pool of light, glancing over notes from the previous shifts. This was one time where she felt absolute frustration at not being able to move about in the daylight hours. Angel needed all the help he could get, and she was more than willing to put in the extra hours. It was, however, difficult when the clinic was across town from her apartment. She'd be ashes before she even crossed the park.

Placing aside the folder, she then moved over to change the dressing on his wound. The pungent aroma of infection and the strange scent of the poison assaulted her senses. At least I won't be hungry again for a while, she thought as her stomach roiled. A moment or two later she secured a fresh section of gauze, pulling the covers back up over him. She then returned to the soft glow of the lamp to update his record.
