Ellie only had one of her children with her at the clinic today. Clara had opted to play video games with her uncle. Charlie insisted on being at the clinic in the hopes of seeing a strange medical anomaly or, in her own words, "a cool injury." Melody had somehow managed to cut herself on a CD case while she was at work with her mother, but despite the best combined efforts of Ariel and Bruce Jr., the band-aids couldn't be located at the music shop, so she was entrusted with the task of watching Bruce and finding the clinic to see if they had some. So, with Bruce in tow, Melody peeked her head in and then slipped inside.

"Hi, there!" she said confidently. "Do you have any band-aids?" She held up her fingers that was rigged up with some tape and a napkin, thanks to Bruce. "Oh, and Mom asked to pick up some aspirin, too. A lot of it, she said."

"Hey there," Ellie greeted the girl, glancing at the temporary tape and napkin bandage, oddly impressed by it. "You're in luck. We have lots of band-aids. We even have some with cool, bright colors."

And some with cartoon characters if that was more preferable.

Charlie looked on, curious about the other girl's injury. "What happened?" she asked.

"CDs can be kind of tricky to open," Melody said, shrugging a little and lifting her finger to show the other girl the damage, as well as it could be seen with the makeshift band-aid, anyway.

"Bruce," she warned the boy with her, "don't touch anything, okay?"

"I won't," Bruce promised, but he did start scouting the perimeter of the clinic, looking over all the posters and other things of interest.
