He'd had a comfortable dinner with Wilson, then retired to the small apartment with Cash. Cash had taken a while to settle down, preferring to run around the apartment and pester House to throw his ball for him. The pair had finally collapsed in the bed, sometime after midnight ( Read more... )

School Counselor susanofnarnia January 16 2006, 17:18:11 UTC
Susan got in early, opened up her office, then went back out to met her new colleagues. Hopefully, no one would need her services today, since it was the first week of school. Still, she was ready if they did.

In the meantime, she needed to find out who Martin Luther King was. And why did he have his own day?

[back in 2-3 hours-- wanted to establish Susan as here. Students, feel free to stop by and say hi, she'll get back to you. House? back in a bit, SP okay.]

House was at the desk when she came in. He watched her, but didn't speak except to call Cash back to him when the puppy charged for her feet. he really needed to break Cash of the feet thing. He could see that being a real issue when the puppy got bigger.

He stood when she emerged from the office, but didn't move toward her. He crunched his red lolly and tossed the stick into the waste can under his desk.

"Dr Pevensie, I presume. Dr Wilson told me you would be here."

[OOC: No worries. I'm heading off to see Glory Road, and will BBL]

"Dr. House, and likewise." Susan smiled and held out her hand, then laughed at the puppy. "Hello again, Cash. I see you're having a good day."

Cash wiggled his way closer to Susan and House just shook his head at the puppy and reached for her hand, giving her a firm shake.

"Are you settling in all right? I assume Dr Wilson gave you the grand tour."

At some point, the Clinic phone rang.

Dr. House not being there at the moment, Susan answered. "Fandom High Clinic. Dr. Pevensie speaking."

Sick and not feeling at all swift enough to put a name to the female voice on the line, Wilson stared at the phone for a moment before croaking painfully.

"Is Dr. House available?"

"I'm sorry, no, he stepped out for a moment. But he should be back shortly." Susan frowned. "Dr. Wilson? You sound terrible." She could just barely recognize his voice.

Alanna settled herself in a chair and began to read her notes for class. Faithful napped on her lap.

"Hello?" Susan came out of her office after finishing up some paperwork during first period, and smiled at Alanna, then tensed, and forced herself to relax, when she saw Faithful. "Are you one of the clinic assistants? I'm Dr. Pevensie, the new school counselor."

Alanna glanced up from her reading, absent-mindedly petting Faithful. "Pleasure to meet, Dr. Pevensie. Faithful told me there was a new doctor, I hope he didn't starte you too much, ma'am. I'm Alanna Trebond."

"Ah, you're Faithful's Alanna." Susan nodded and said, "And no, he didn't startle me too much." Considering he's the first Talking Animal I've seen in twenty years. "I hope you're also doing well, Faithful."

Victor swung by, hoping that the doctor was in.

Seems it's Victor's lucky day. Unless he's looking for Dr Wilson. In which case, it's very much not his lucky day.

"Victor." House looked up from charting work. Oh how he hated charting. he would take any excuse to push the files aside.

"Hey, Doctor House," Victor said with a little wave. "I was wondering if Doctor Wilson was around."

House shook his head. Cash jumped up and ran for Victor.

"Dr Wilson isn't working today."

Leaving Wilson asleep in front of the television for a while -- after extracting a promise that there would be no further physical exertion than what was necessary for a trip into the kitchen for tea -- Aziraphale decides to make a quick stop at the clinic. It's ostensibly to check in on House, although he might be planning to ask for a little advice on the treatment of influenza as well.

[OOC: Also wanted to stop and meet the new counselor, so feel free to grab him. :)]

He'd just let Cash out in the courtyard, and stood at the door watching the puppy romp. He glanced to the side when someone came in, and seeing Aziraphale, he wasn't sure what to think.

The call from Wilson had been cryptic. Susan had said Wilson was dead and planned to resurrect ihmself in a few days. It wasn't literal, House knew that, but still. He was concerned, and Aziraphale coming to the clinic didn't feel right to him.

House turned away from the courtyard and limped toward the clinic waiting room. His cane hung off the end of the desk. He met Phale's gaze. "You're looking better than you did last night. How's James?"

Aziraphale smiles. Leave it to House to cut straight to the heart of the matter.

"Thank you, my dear. I feel a great deal better. James, on the other hand, apparently has the flu. He's sleeping right now, but I'm really not sure what to do. I've given him juice and tea, and Tylenol. But...I don't really know anything about illnesses, Greg. They aren't something I'm used to dealing with. I thought...perhaps you could tell me what I ought to be doing."

"I'll give you some pills to take to him. He's stubborn, probably won't take them. A warm bath will help. Not hot, not cold. Is he coughing? I can give you cough medicine if he is. It'll help with congestion too. Did he tell you it's the flu? He's probably right, so we'll go with that. It means he's going to be miserable for a couple days, no matter what you do for him."
