After a relaxing evening with Aziraphale, House felt much better about himself, and the future. There were still a lot of wrinkles that needed to be ironed out, but he was, at last, on the right track

Grissom walked into the clinic early in the morning, and was a little surprised to see Dr. House, but he took it as a good sign House was back before Christmas and smiled.
"Dr. House," Grissom said rather cheerfully, for him anyway. "I re-scheduled my treatment with Dr. Wilson for today so I could fly for the holidays. Is it too early to come in?"
Grissom nodded his thanks, and shuffled back to Exam One, comfortable now with moving around the clinic. Upon entering the familiar room, he took his jacket off and hung it over the back of an empty chair, and then laughed when he noticed the stack of Ranger Rick magazines on the counter.
He could use the laugh. Although he had adapted fairly well to the routine of the chemo and its after-effects, as much as anyone can, this was one of those weeks in which the ways it limited him both annoyed and helped feed his still sometimes festering sense of insecurity when it came to... a lot of things. He tried to shake off the emotions that pestered him, beginning to unbutton his shift cuff.
Rubbing his face, he took a seat, checking his voicemail and shutting off his phone before Dr. House was ready to start.

"Co-ordinating the holidays is possibly even more frustrating than I ever imagined," he said with a sliver of humor, and then indicated with a nod that he was indeed ready.
As House set up the transfusion, Grissom grimaced slightly. "And my mother has discovered text messaging."

He set up the procedure and started the transfusion with a careful, gentle hand.
"Where are you off to for the holidays?"
