Wilson and House had been up the whole night, between hourly checks on Rory, Marty and Logan they had -laughably- tried to relieve each other for a few hours of sleep but each had been too keyed up to take advantage and after the first try had given up ( Read more... )

Sam showed up, bags of coffee and boxes of donuts from NPC Grocery in hand.

"Tell me how I can help."

Wilson had just finished with doing rounds when Samantha showed up and boy did she get warm smiles at the sign of donuts!

"Good morning, Sam." He called out in a tired but friendly tone. "Honestly? Fill him in on whatever details you've picked up from the radio or the gossip vine. I know he's curious but neither House nor I have had a chance to stop in long enough to give him the low down. I think it's..."

Wilson pondered the word he wanted and then, in a tone touched with a gentle understanding. "I think it's distressing him, not knowing."

Sam rolled her eyes. "He can just wait a few more damn minutes--it's hardly fatal. You look like you've been through a war. Do you or Doctor House want me to sit at the desk so you can get some sleep?"

After leaving a bouquet from NPC Florsist for Rory, Angela steps into Marty's examination room.

He looks better than last night, if only marginally, and she really can't tell whether he's asleep or just resting.

She puts some gerbera daisies with a card reading To a true hero on his bedside table and sits in a chair near his bed, waiting for him to move. "Marty?" She whispers. "Can you hear me?"

Marty opens his eyes and gives Angela a warm smile.

"Hey you."

He tries to sit up only to wince and lay back down again. He still has a smile on his face though.

"Flowers? For Me? Aren't you sweet. Is everybody okay?"

"Hey," Angela says, leaning over to give Marty a kiss on a relatively unbruised section of his forehead. "Everyone is alive anyhow. And you look better."

She steps back from the bed. "Logan Echolls -- Angelus got him, too. He's in the next exam room."

Around 10 am, the sounds of the Pink Panther theme drifted up from Logan's jacket. His eyes shot open and he fumbled for the phone.

"Veronica? You okay?"

Angela is taking her fifteenth aimless walk around the clinic as she waits for Marty to wake up. She's studying a poster about the circulatory system when she realizes she recognizes the voice coming from Exam Room #4.

Logan Echolls

She can't overhear much of the conversation, but she picks out Angelus and Rory's names and the phrases "decided to wait another day" and "I'll be ready for him." She guesses he's telling ... someone? About what happened the night before.

After the conversation seems to have ended, she taps hesitantly on the exam room door. "Logan? It's Angela Chase. Is it okay if I talk to you for a second?"

[Early Saturday morning]

After talking to Logan, Rory fell asleep again, and stayed that way for the majority of the morning.

[ooc:...because her mun is going to see the Harry Potter movie, and won't be back until early evening. If you want to watch her sleep, leave her presents, what have you, feel free. I'll wake her up to visit tonight, though.]

Angela slips into Rory's exam room and looks down at her sleeping friend. I hope to god the spell worked, she thinks, shuddering. Otherwise ... who knows what he'll do next?

She leaves a bouquet of pink roses on Rory's bedside table before slipping out again. They need to talk, but it can wait.

The Tick walked into Rory's room quietly and placed a wooden figure of some sort with a whimsical purple cocktail umbrella glued to its hand next to Angela's roses on the table.

He avoided looking at Rory while he left Little Wooden Boy. He couldn't bring himself to look. He then exited as quickly and quietly as he could.

Logan rubbed his face with the heel of his good hand. "We'll see," he said. He leaned back on the pillow and watched the ceiling as Angela left the room.
